Celebrating a decade long friendship
Amsterdam-born fashion brands Daily Paper and Filling Pieces announce their collaborative capsule collection rooted in a longstanding friendship, brotherhood and mutual creativity. Inspired by the iconic Sapeurs of Congo and the Republic of Congo, the collection pays homage to the colourful style, expression and character of the Congolese dandy culture.
With the Daily Paper and Filling Pieces supporting each other's journey since its inception, it only made sense for the two brands to reunite for a second edition almost a decade after their first official collaboration in 2013. Pioneering a new wave of creatives in Amsterdam, Daily Paper and Filling Pieces’ relationship is a true reflection of the unique creative culture in the city, based on mutual collaboration, mentorship and support.
Signature Daily Paper and Filling Pieces styles are adorned with a custom design infused with colour and flair, bringing the best of both brands together in one collection. Consisting of 18 silhouettes across shoes, ready-to-wear and accessories, the capsule collection is a hybrid of Congolese through both brands’ lens.
The collection's overall print is composed of the brands’ stylized logos, and insignia inspired by the founders’ heritage, alongside a graphic depicting a dandy Sapeur in his neighbourhood. With a nod to the Sapeurs’ flamboyance and elegance, the colour palette ranges from light blue and lilac to rich green, classic black and white and a surprising pop of yellow.
Highlights include a premium wool blend varsity jacket with the custom collection print decorating both front and back, a lilac mesh top, the classic Polido loafer featuring a custom gold logo detail, the limited edition Gali boot with an all-over monogram print and the Monogram Mini tote.
The collaborative collection will be available in the EU online at dailypaperclothing.com and fillingpieces.com, and in-stores across selected retailers worldwide and the Daily Paper and Filling Pieces flagship stores in Amsterdam on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 12 PM CET. Prices range from €15-€350.
