Giving back to the motherland through raising funds to support global migration issues
Debuting their second edition of the ‘A Love for Humanity’, Daily Paper continues to support refugees globally by collaborating with creative and humanitarian Yohanna Alem. Relaunching the limited edition t-shirt with 100% of the proceeds going to collaborative partners Restore the Motherland NGO and Asmlash Grant Foundation.
"Giving back to the motherland is integrated in the Daily Paper DNA. From facilitating the building of football courts, a skate park and organizing pop-ups across the African continent, to partnering up with NGO’s that stand close to our heart. Our aim is always to unite diasporas around the world." - Abderrahmane Trabsini (Co-Founder and Design Director, Daily Paper)
Designed around the simple notion of loving all humans, Yohanna resonated with the term ‘A Love for Humanity’ as it is a reminder that love is stronger than everything. As a designer rooted in storytelling, Yohanna explains; ‘this t-shirt shows a mother and her child fleeing with nothing more than what they could grab, not knowing where they will end up or if they will ever return. The crayons are significant as it is the tool I wanted to use to show the purity and simplicity in the message’.
The campaign shows an improvised bed with a patchwork blanket and pillow made of multiple 'A Love for Humanity' tees, symbolizing a warm welcome and safe place.
Daily Paper will split the total donation between Restore the Motherland, with focus on helping deliver books and essential equipment for the children, and the Asmlash Grant Foundation, who are focused on emergency housing and maintaining the urgent need of the refugees. Together they work towards the same goals with the same population of refugees.
The ‘A Love For Humanity’ Tee will retail for €60 and will launch globally online at dailypaperclothing.com on Thursday June 16th at 12 PM CEST. >
